Version 7.4 Streamlines Field Work, Inventory, and Inspections
Map-based mobile applications help field workers increase accuracy and speed using data validation and sharing.
AgileAssets Inc., a leading global provider of transportation asset lifecycle management software, has released Version 7.4 of its enterprise solution with a focus on enhanced mobile applications that simplify routine tasks for maintenance and inspection teams. Field workers can use the new software on mobile devices to locate their work sites on a map, perform inspections and other tasks offline while in remote areas, and send data back to their office teams as soon as connectivity is available.
Version 7.4 of the software is built to boost the productivity of crew leads and maintenance engineers, who can use the AgileAssets® Work Manager™ mobile application to create and edit day cards, capture labor assigned to the operation of specific equipment, and conduct general asset inspections. In addition, crew members can collect information on new assets quickly and easily, including capturing and communicating work needed on traffic signs, guardrails, signals, ITS equipment, and more—improving cross-team collaboration and efficiency.
“Agencies are looking for smarter ways to spend their limited funds, including building more efficiency into their operations,” said Stuart W. Hudson, P.E., CEO of AgileAssets. “By giving field teams more flexibility and faster data access, we’re helping agencies eliminate the costs and delays of traditional paperwork, saving them time and taxpayer money.”
The upgrade to v7.4 also expands the functionality of the AgileAssets® Structures Inspector™ web application through the easy-to-use Structures Inspector™ mobile application that helps bridge inspection teams significantly reduce their inspection times using built-in data formatting and validation. By collecting data once on a mobile device, teams can eliminate the duplicate data entry that is necessary in paper-based processes. Using the mobile application, an inspector can quickly find the inspection site on a map, view the last inspection report, access inventory information, record component and element ratings, and augment ratings with annotated photos—all while working without a network connection on an Apple® iOS or Android™ tablet.
“From listening to transportation leaders across the US and around the world, we know that managing work activities across teams—from the field to the office—can be a big challenge,” said Jared Pulham, Director of Product Management at AgileAssets. “Helping agencies solve their strategic problems with affordable solutions delivered through SaaS and mobile devices drives us to continually innovate our products and deliver increasing value to our customers.”
